April April 7, 2009

I haven’t written in a while, so I decided it was time to dig up another poem I wrote when I was in sixth grade. I hope you enjoy!
April
Splish-splash, pitter-patter, drip-drop,
Come the sounds of rain on my roof top.
My cats lie napping, wishing for sun,
So they may run around and have fun.
The sun shining through the rain and what do I see?
A bright, colorful rainbow looking back at me.
But, oh, how sad, it soon disappears,
And brings great big raindrops that look like tears.
But when May comes, flowers bloom,
Therefore ending April’s gloom.
For April showers
Bring May flowers.
